Bowser and Blue

Comedy Duo

George Bowser and Rick Blue have been writing and performing music and comedy together since 1978. George plays guitars and bass, and can make recognizable musical sounds with many other instruments, including his mouth. Rick plays guitar, mandolin and harmonica, and sings in a rather pleasant baritone, when George will let him. Colorectal surgeons around the world are familiar with the duo through their hit song “Working Where the Sun Don’t Shine,” which was first heard on the radio show “Madly Off In All Directions,” in 1997.

In the fall of 2004, they toured performing arts centers and community theatres in Alberta. They brought their show to Ontario theatres later in 2006, and toured Atlantic Canada in early 2006.

Bowser and Blue have written and appeared in many full-length theatre shows, including the musical The Paris of America, which ran for seven sold-out weeks at Montreal’s Centaur Theatre in 2003. Previous Centaur Theatre shows include the smash hits Blokes and Blokes Deux.
